On February 28, Chairman Y.H. Park of Doosan Group’s Yonkang Foundation transferred a total of US$ 1 million in scholarships and souvenirs during the 2012 Doosan Group Scholarship Award Ceremony held at Doosan Tower in Euljiro 6-ga, Jung-gu in Seoul.

The 382 recipients of the scholarship include elementary and middle school students who are acting as heads of their household, and high school and college students who have achieved good academic results despite the financial hardship at home, and thus have been recommended by principals and deans.

Chairman Park said, “National competitiveness derives from good human resources, and good human resources are cultivated through education,” adding, “I hope that these worthy recipients of the Yonkang Scholarship can focus on their studies and grow to become valuable resources who will lead Korea’s future.”

Established in 1978 as Doosan’s dedicated scholarship and academic foundation, the Yonkang Foundation has supported a wide range of scholarship programs and academic and cultural promotion projects.
