Doosan donated US$ 889,205 to the Babo Nanum Foundation on March 19. Chairman Y.H. Park transferred the funds to Bishop Andrew Yeom Soo-jung, chairman of the foundation, at the Bishop Hall of the Archdiocese of Seoul.
Babo Nanum, Korea’s first private sector fund-raising agency, was established in February 2010 to inherit “the life of love and the spirit of sharing,” according to the will of the late Cardinal Stephen Kim Soo-hwan. The foundation assists needy people in Korea and elsewhere through individuals’ campaign to put sharing into practice, such as sharing “rice of hope.”
This is Doosan’s second donation to the foundation to help the underprivileged, having already donated to Babo Nanum some US$93,500 in proceeds from a charity fundraiser hosted by Doosan Magazine last February.
