On October 12, Doosan Infracore received certification for its addition to the DJSI Asia Pacific’s industrial engineering section at the ‘International Conference and Certification Ceremony for the Dow Jones Sustainable Management Index 2011’ held at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. After the addition to the DJSI Korea last year, Doosan Infracore moved to a higher level this year.
The news about Doosan Infracore’s addition to DJSI Asia Pacific will be also delivered to global investment institutions. Therefore, Doosan Infracore not only gained increased external recognition in the sustainable management section but a positive influence on the investment decisions made by global investment institutions.
The Dow Jones Sustainable Management Index (DJSI) is a global evaluation index that evaluates not only the company’s financial performance but also its sustainable management initiatives including environmental and social aspects. There is a record showing a company with better sustainable management will achieve a stronger financial performance.Therefore, DJSI is utilized as an important evaluation standard for investors.
Doosan Infracore was incorporated into DJSI Asia Pacific because it had received a good evaluation for its sustainable management efforts including: i) the establishment and operation of an organization responsible for sustainable management; ii) the implementation of activities mainly through the establishment of sustainable management strategies; iii) the creation of customer value through sustainable innovation, such as developing environmentally-friendly technologies and products; and iv) the implementation of corporate social responsibility, including the support for disaster recovery.
Doosan Infracore plans to expand the application of its sustainable management system to overseas business sites, based on the achievements it has made domestically.
