Doosan held a donation ceremony for Doosan Infracore’s compact equipment at the Royal St. George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, England, on July 16 for The Open Championship.
This ceremony was held by Doosan Corp., the sole Korean patron of The Open Championship, for The Royal and Ancient Golf Club (commonly known as The R&A). This ceremony was attended by the Chairman and CEO Yongmaan Park in Doosan Corporation; President and CEO Geewon Park in Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction; and Chief Executive Peter Dawson in The R&A.
The donated equipments including Bobcat telescopic handlers and utility vehicles, will be used for landscape gardening, emergency rescue missions, and for various other tasks at The Open Championship.
Peter Dawson, the Chief Executive of The R&A said: “We are very pleased that Doosan has donated such equipment for use at the Open Championship’s venues. This construction equipment will provide important support in the preparation and operation of the Open Championship.” He added: “I hope The Open allows Doosan to bring its brand to a worldwide audience.”
Doosan is taking an aggressive marketing approach in the global market and supporting the Open will give it a stronger brand presence in the European and North American market. The aim is to become a global top 200 company by 2020.
