Doosan Infracore unveils the telematics service ‘DoosanCONNECT’ in Korea

A DX350LC-5 50-ton excavator mounted with DI’s recently-unveiled DoosanCONNECT service. DI has installed DoosanCONNECT on two super-large excavators and all wheel loader models.

Doosan Infracore announced on April 11 that it has officially unveiled its DoosanCONNECT™ service in Korea, having already released it in China, Europe, and North America among other major global markets.

DoosanCONNECT is a service designed to remote-monitor the operational information of excavators, wheel loaders, and articulated dump trucks, etc. using ICT-based telematics technology. Simply by connecting to DoosanCONNECT anywhere in the world, the user can check a machine’s position information and operational status and the condition of major parts of its engine and hydraulic system in order to manage the worksite and operate the machine more efficiently.

Based on the analysis of information gathered by DoosanCONNECT, Doosan Infracore provides its customers with a monthly machine operation report that enables them to check information on the machine operation time by use mode, replacement times for consumables such as filters and oil, fuel consumption and fuel efficiency, in order to use the machine more efficiently.

DI originally launched the telematics service in China in 2005, but it has dramatically improved DoosanCONNECT in terms of user convenience and functionality since then, and has released the updated service in China, Europe, and North America.

DoosanCONNECT has also enabled DI to win more orders. Earlier this year, DI received an order for twenty 40-ton articulated dump trucks from a heavy equipment lessor in Norway. An order of this size corresponds to the average amount of orders received in any one year from Norway. As such, DoosanCONNECT has proved that it serves customer-tailored needs for more efficient management of work information very well.

A DI official said, “In Korea, we have unveiled DoosanCONNECT this time around by installing it in eleven models including two super-large excavator models and all of our wheel loader models. In addition, we intend to unveil more models equipped with the technology, and will further develop diverse DoosanCONNECT-based solutions for supplies, maintenance packages, etc. to further meet our customers’ needs.”
