On Nov. 28, Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) awarded grants totaling 180 million won (about $160,000) to 15 researchers studying environmental and safety issues.
At the awards event held at the Grand Ambassador Hotel in downtown Seoul, the foundation also held a signing ceremony to announce the launch of the Doosan Yonkang Environmental Academic Research Grants Agreement.
Since 1993, the Doosan Yonkang Foundation has offered grants to professors researching environmental and safety issues. Through the funding program, over 21 years it has delivered 2 billion won in support to 194 research projects. The foundation also publishes the Yonkang Journal of Environmental Academic Research Papers, which is distributed to university libraries and major institutions nationwide every year.
“I hope the research that comes from the Doosan Yonkang Environmental Academic Research Grants help advance knowledge and technological development in environmental and safety fields,” said Chairman Park.
