On October 26, Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) pledged 120 million won in scholarships to 82 middle and high school students in Busan and South Gyeongsang province, in areas that suffered from a typhoon and severe flooding in late August.
“Students are our future, and their studies should not suffer as a result of typhoon damage,” said a foundation official. “We hope that our scholarships will provide some help to students and their parents in the typhoon-hit regions.”
Founded in 1978, the Yonkang Foundation, Doosan’s scholarship and academic institute, conducts a wide range of projects that promote academics, including international training courses for teachers and donating books.
