Doosan Infracore (President Y.S. Kim) on December 10-11 held a “Doosan Infracore Family Party,” which was attended by 450 freshman staff members who were hired through 2010’s second-half recruitment program and their parents, as well as key company executives, including President Y.S. Kim, and Tony Helsham.

Doosan Infracore organized the event to enable the new incoming staff to learn the importance of families and instill in them global mindsets, while giving their parents a chance to expand their understanding about the company; the event also sought to promote Doosan’s unique culture, which values harmony between work and family.

J.W. Lee, Managing Director Doosan Infracore, said, “China is growing into the world’s largest excavator market, and is a region where world leading excavator makers, including Komatsu and Caterpillar, are staging cutthroat competition.” Lee added, “We have invited our freshman staff and their parents to show them vivid onsite images of Doosan Infracore, which ranks first in the Chinese excavator market.”

During the two-day event, freshman staff and their parents toured excavator, wheel loader and machine tool plants in Yantai, China in succession. They were also treated to a Chinese-style course dinner, watched performances and visited tourist attractions around the area, enjoying their experience of Chinese culture.

Additionally, the company held diverse events, including “From Cradle to Doosan,” which showcases the process of freshman staff members’ growth; the “Family Photo Wall,” where they took pictures together with their parents clad in traditional Chinese clothing; and a presentation of “wines for celebrating promotion,” given with a request for the parents to consume the wines when they celebrate their children’s first promotion.

Attending the dinner reception, Doosan Infracore President Y.S. Kim said, “The fundamental source of business success is human resources,” adding, “I would to urge you to develop into top-class human resources armed with passion and a global business mindset.”

T.Y. Kim, 23, a freshman staffer who took part in the event, said, “This is the first time in over 10 years that I have taken a trip with my parents,” adding, “We had a wonderful time that allowed me to recall memories from my childhood, and the event revitalized the love between our family members.”

Meanwhile, the freshman staff will undergo orientation and training for new arrivals at the company and rotational occupational training sessions over the next four months, before being deployed to their respective departments in May 2011.
